Why am I talking to teenagers?

          Because this time of life is when everything is shifting.
Maybe you don’t notice it now…

          Or maybe you do.

Maybe it feels the ground under your feet keeps moving.
What matters, what doesn’t, who you are, how you feel, 

          It all keeps changing.
And in the middle of all that change,

          It’s easy to miss the quiet stuff.

I didn’t realize how valuable this quiet strength was until later.
          But if someone had pointed it out to me back then,
It might’ve saved me a lot of confusion.

So here I am, pointing.
Just holding up a flashlight and saying,

          “Hey, this is worth seeing.”

And also--but don’t let this go to your head--
          but you know something that a lot of grownups forget.
You still remember how to play.
          You still believe fun is important.

That’s not immaturity. That’s clarity!
