Slice #15 (an excerpt)
Strength Doesn’t Always Show
Not all strength looks like strength.
Sometimes it looks like sitting quietly in your room
when everything feels like too much,
and still getting up the next morning.
Sometimes it looks like holding back a harsh comment,
even when you really want to say it.
Sometimes it’s just staying kind,
when no one else around you is.
It’s not loud.
It doesn’t come with trophies, or a post that goes viral.
This kind of strength helps you keep going when nobody sees.
It’s what lets you feel okay inside,
and not just act okay on the outside.
You might not even realize you’re being strong.
You might just think you’re tired, or barely holding on.
But the fact that you’re still here?
Still trying?
Still caring, even only a little?
That’s strength.
Even if it doesn’t show.
