Hope & Ray Story #28 (an excerpt)
Finding the Quiet Teacher
Then Ray said, more quietly, “Sometimes when I feel like that, I try to check in with my body instead of fighting it.”
Hope raised an eyebrow. “Check in how?”

“I don’t know… I just kinda listen. Like, I’ll realize my shoulders are tight or I’m breathing shallow, and I ask, ‘Why?’ It’s usually not just random and happening by itself. Like, maybe I didn’t sleep well. Or something got to me in class. My body’s just showing it.”
Then she said, “Yeah, I didn’t sleep much last night. I kept thinking about this thing someone said to me last week. It was dumb, but… it got stuck in my head.”
Ray nodded. “And now your body’s still carrying it.”
“I never thought of it like that,” she said. “Like, maybe my body’s not the problem. Maybe it’s just trying to say something.”
WHAT THIS SAYS ABOUT STRENGTH
Strength isn’t always about muscles or loud confidence. Sometimes strength is slowing down long enough to notice what your body’s been whispering all along.
